This year’s topic focuses on the Executive Presence - Being Present
This year’s recertification centers on one essential trait of executive presence: the ability to be fully present in every conversation, even when demands, notifications, and competing priorities are pulling you in different directions.
Executive presence is a discipline built through awareness, reflection, and deliberate practice. When you are more present, you project confidence and steadiness, build trust and credibility, and create the kind of connection that inspires people to follow your lead.
Throughout the program, you will examine how distraction, fear of change, and emotional reactivity quietly undermine the impact of leadership and coaching effectiveness. Using guided reflection, practical exercises, and tools from Sherpa’s Executive Presence collection, you will strengthen your ability to focus attention, regulate responses, communicate with intention, and stay grounded—in high‑stakes meetings, coaching sessions, and everyday interactions.

WHO THE PROGRAM IS FOR
This program is designed for Certified Sherpa Coaches (CSC) who want to stay current, renew their credentials, and continue leveraging the Sherpa name and logo in their coaching practice. Recertification is required to retain your CSC designation on an annual basis.
It is also ideal for leaders, HR and talent professionals, internal coaches, and aspiring executive coaches who want to strengthen how they guide others, build coaching capability, and lead more effective, impact‑driven conversations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this program, you will strengthen your own ability to be present and use that skill to coach others toward greater focus, calm, and effectiveness, using practical Sherpa tools that you can apply immediately in your coaching practice.
You will learn how to:
-
Keep clients and team members focused on the moment so they can cut through distractions and perform better every day.
-
Lead “here‑and‑now” coaching conversations that move people out of worry and into clearer thinking and stronger decisions.
-
Apply simple presence practices that reduce reactivity and stress, supporting emotional well‑being for your clients and staff.
-
Build trust faster by modeling genuine executive presence and asking questions that help people feel heard, understood, and ready to take action.
-
Equip those you coach with a practical toolkit they can use to stay grounded during change and navigate uncertainty with more steadiness and resilience.
-
Use new tools and practices to strengthen your own mindfulness, presence, and self‑awareness in both personal and professional settings.
TOOLS & FRAMEWORKS
During the program, you will apply practical Sherpa tools that strengthen presence, self‑awareness, and intentional leadership behavior.
Personal Ground Rules
Define clear personal ground rules that sharpen focus and guide your behavior under pressure. You will identify habits and distractions that pull you off center and replace them with commitments that keep you grounded and present.
Check-In Strategies
Use a simple check‑in process to review the physical, rational, and emotional dimensions of your life and leadership. You will pinpoint where you are out of alignment, identify growth opportunities, and respond more deliberately.
The Chameleon Effect
Practice Sherpa’s Chameleon Effect—mindful breathing, “no opinion,” and phrase mapping—to stay calm, aware, and intentional in challenging situations. You will learn to pause, choose your words, and respond constructively rather than react impulsively.
You will also be introduced to Selfware™, Sherpa’s applied neuroscience framework that links brain science, behavior, and self‑awareness to leadership effectiveness, executive presence, communication, and decision‑making.
